Quality of Life Award –
the Speaker of the Knesset Prize 2022

Research indicates that sports are not only fun and a great way to lead a healthy lifestyle—it can also be a key driver of social change.
In June 2022 FKI was honored by the Israeli Speaker of the Parliament – Quality of Life Prize – to recognize our social mobility successes with Arab youth from the most socio-economically disadvantaged villages in Israel and our work to break down stereotypes by bringing together Jewish and Arab children through the sport of tennis.

It was an extremely welcome accolade for the organisation, now in its 22nd year. The award was presented to our founder, Jane Krivine, by the Speaker of the Knesset at the time, Mickey Levi MK, and FKI was permitted to bring 40 guests;  they included Board members, staff, volunteers, coaches and most importantly a group of 14 teen boys and girls from Jisr az Zarka and Faradis, all enthusiastic long-term members of the tennis programme.  The occasion was their first ever visit to Jerusalem, and they were thrilled with the warm reception they received at the Knesset.

The FKI was proud to receive the award, and it was particularly rewarding to know that this would be a day the FKI participants would never forget.
