The Freddie Krivine Initiative empowers Arab youth in Israel through tennis, education and shared society programs. Since 2000, FKI has reached over 10,000 children, building equality, inclusion and connection across communities.

Since 2000, the Freddie Krivine Initiative has harnessed the power of tennis to promote education, equality and connection between Arab and Jewish communities in Israel. Through weekly tennis and homework clubs, shared society events, summer camps and local competitions, we provide children and families with safe spaces to grow, connect and thrive.
Our programs reach hundreds of participants each year, helping children build confidence, discipline and friendships that cross cultural and social divides. These numbers reflect the real impact of our mission and the lasting change we are creating together.

Personal Stories

Dr Sireen Mohsen

Dr. Sireen Mohsen is from Furedis. 20 years ago Freddie Krivine set up Israel's first coexistence through tennis program at the Ceasarea tennis courts. He brought together 20 kids - 10 Jewish kids from Caesarea and 10 Arab kids from Furedis and Jisr a-Zarqa. At the call for tryouts over 350 kids turned up!! Sireen was the only girl whose parents allowed her to attend. From aged 8-18 these 20 kids played together and became firm friends. Today Sireen has completed her medical studies and also serves on FKI's Board.

Bassam Amash

In 2024, Bassam completed the prestigious Acre training course to become a tennis coach. We first met Bassam four years ago when we were called into the local school in Jisr A Zarqa to run programs for at-risk children during COVID times. Bassam was shy, not saying a word, but was super intelligent and picked up tennis so quickly. Within weeks, our coaches encouraged him to join our after-school programs - where he has been playing ever since. In 2023, Bassam volunteered as an assistant to our coaches in the summer camps, in 2024, we funded his training and internship at our afterschool club - his mother, when signing the permission paers shared with us that she cannot read and write even in her native Arabic and had never completed school and was so happy that Bassam would have a different future. Now Bassam is an assistant coach while also studying full-time in school.

Mohameed Rashwan + Yoni Gottlieb

After Oct 7th Channel 12 prime time news interviewed our veteran coaches Mohameed Rashwan and Yoni Gottlieb on how we keep working together. Mohameed, who began as a child aged 8 in FKI's very first program said we each have to keep taking the small steps, and eventually they will all add up to one big step. Yoni emphasised that our programs reach hundreds of participants each year, helping children build confidence, discipline and friendships that cross cultural and social divides. Alumni Meets

Alumni meetings are full of shared beautiful memories of their days together. With laughing they reminicse of the cheeky mischief they used to get up to. Everyone shares where they are today in their personal and professional lives. There are varied professions from doctors to carpenters, business owners, tennis coaches, hair dressers, mothers, fathers, and even holistic care practitioners. At one meeting everyone agreed that the program was more than just a sport; it had a hand in shaping their successful futures. They reflected on its life changing impact. Dr Munir Amash, originally from Jisr a Zarqa, now a doctor in the Afula hospital said he wouldn't be where he is today if Freddie had not chosen him to be part of the first-ever program. It was heartwarming to witness their sports achievements and see that they had all gone on to lead successful and bright futures. This reunion reminded us that sports can work wonders and has the power to transform lives. In 2000 Freddie started with 15 children, today we have over 150!
