Associated Tennis Schools

Nazareth Tennis School

This five court facility, in the grounds of the YMCA, is an Associate Member of the Freddie Krivine Foundation. Two courts were completely re-surfaced and equipped in 2006 with funds from the Freddie Krivine Foundation and the Cliff Richard Organisation. In 2008 three more courts were added, thanks to a donation from the late Irwin Green of Baco Raton, Florida. This is the largest tennis school in the Arab sector, with 200 children attending weekly.  Alumni have become professional tennis coaches, have earned full tennis scholarships at US colleges, have represented Israel in international tournaments and have been nationally ranked in the top ten junior players.  The school is managed by Salomon Hamed for the Nazareth Foundation for Tennis.  Layal Amoury (14) is a top twenty player in Israel.

Visit from Sir Cliff Richard

Days before two sell-out performances in Tel Aviv,in July 2013, British pop star Sir Cliff Richard took to the tennis courts at the Nazareth Tennis School. An avid tennis fan and player, Sir Cliff donated funds in 2005 to help the Freddie Krivine Foundation refurbish courts for Israeli Arab youth at the Nazareth Tennis School, located in the grounds of the Nazareth YMCA. He was absolutely amazing, playing every child who challenged him, for more than two hours in the hot sun. He proved unbeatable. It is impossible to believe that 2015 was his 75th birthday year.
